Words that stayed
Poems, vows and a celebration at the heart of Shikoba. A selection from the stories we have shared.
01 · Personal poem
Born again in love
A poem by Anabela about choosing, rebuilding and loving again. Adapted into English from the original Portuguese.
Today he is reborn.
Today he remakes himself…
Read the poem
Today he is reborn.
Today he remakes himself
through the very words that once undid him,
through the same love he once failed,
through the same love he now gives me,
and makes of us, together, love every day.
Along other paths.
Not better, not worse, simply other.
But never along someone else’s paths.
Today he is born a man
where once he was a boy.
Today he declares himself anew.
Revolutionises himself.
Loved himself.
Loves himself.
Loves me.
Celebrates himself.
So celebrate him too.
